Thursday.

Ryan's fever was gone when I went to bed last night. We both slept better.

POTD. Prompt is black & white. I was going to leave the photo in color since the it is mostly black & white anyway.

Went to the clubhouse to let Andy swim. Hot. Talked to Doyle until his phone kept hanging up.

Lunch at CFA.

Worked on April 2009 and finished purging.

Dinner: tuna, tomatoes & melon

Wednesday.

Ryan was fidgety last night when I went to bed. At 1 am he had a fever. He won't take any meds so he continued to toss and turn all night. He would like still for a few minutes if he snuggled with me. At 3 am, I could think enough to get the ice pack. That helped some. He still woke up at 4:45 and got up. He came back in at 6:30 to wake me up. And by wake me up I mean kick me out so he can watch cartoons. He still had a fever and I asked if we should stay home. He said no and that it would go away soon.

At 8:00 am, he conceded that he should stay home. I said we could go to the History Center next week and he said "What about Disney?" I still had not booked a room because money is still tight. Yet I could not say no so I said I had to look. He came out and made sure I booked a room. I was surprised that rooms were cheaper than when we went in May. By about $100 for the stay. So we are staying home today and going to Disney next week.

POTD prompt was noise. I know she meant digital noise but I couldn't do it. I opted for a literal translation.

I told Andy we would not be going out today. He seemed OK as it was sinking in. I told him we are going to Disney and he got very happy.

Ready for a nap at 11:00. Ryan still feverish. Glad we stayed home.

Card of the day.

Lunch: grilled cheese, carrots, banana

Layout. I used a template I purchased recently.

I went out to do some errands. I went and got more produce since most of what I got on Saturday was gone. I went to Shannon's and spent $27! $12 was spent just on cherries, $4.99 per pound. I went to the bank. Then I went to Starbucks for carrot cupcake and soy chai latte. Yum! I talked to one of the baristas about matcha green tea. The green color just looks unreal. I assumed that they added food coloring to get the color. She said matcha is just ground tea leaves so they have more antioxidants. I will have to check it out.

My order from Notions arrived. I need to send the paper off to Bonnie and find shelf room for my albums. So much stuff I need to get rid of. No motivation.

Ryan was still feverish but more active.

Dinner: salad and cherries.

Three quick power outages about 7 pm.

Mac OS Lion came out today. I am waiting to see how things go before I download.

Tuesday.

POTD prompt was one.

Ordered some chewies for Andy. There is another company selling similar ones. I may try them out soon.

At the Health Department. Ryan is nervous and trying not to be.

Ryan did really well. The nurse gave him the shot and he said, "That's it?"

Ryan said it was too early for lunch so I suggested the Toy Store. I expected Ryan to say no but he did not. Ryan found yet another monopoly game to add to his collection. And I got two more Lego sets. Yep, I am weak. Ryan also picked out a new thermos with the Green Lantern.

Lunch: salad at home. I need to get more produce.

Half of my Notions order came. Cardstock for Bonnie.

Worked on and completed purging March 2009. Also did a layout for April 2009.

Apparently I am the only one who can empty the trash or take out the recycling the twelve feet to the garage.

Card of the day.

Ryan has chosen to go to Tampa Bay History Center tomorrow for Wednesday Adventure Club.

Ryan did not want me to take off his bandaid. In the past, he would hate getting hurt especially if it required a bandaid. He did not like them. Now he doesn't want it taken off. He says his arm doesn't hurt. Is he trying to convince himself?

Monday

POTD prompt was slow shutter. My shutter speeds are always slow when I am working with macro. So I focused on a slow theme. I like the Lego Marina. Lots of little vignettes possible.

I don't like having to click the edit in this Day One app. It wasn't like that before and I keep forgetting. Then I have to scroll down to the end of the text.

Moo is having a summer sale. Thirty percent off for a few days. I will have to gather what cards I have and get them printed.

Some of my music is messed up. Michael Penn sounds just like Pink Floyd. Over the years of failed hard drives and mother boards, and transferring from computer to another, things are a little mixed up. Luckily, I still have the CDs if I really want every track back. But with over 12,000 tracks, I doubt I will miss a few songs.

I took Andy to the pool. We went to Chick Fil A for lunch. We dropped off a box at FedEx for Bonnie. Andy went in to check out the store.

Came home. Lego Pick-a-Brick order was there. I spent sone time sorting and organizing. Still need more containers. I think I can transfer my scrapbook storage to Lego.

Damn kettle corn was calling me and I ate the rest. Three hundred calories worth!

Fixed the layout from yesterday. I found a patterned paper that had the colors I wanted and went from there. I also did another layout from week 3 of Design Your Life. Cathy has this thing about mixing paper sizes. I won't do it. I just add more to the digital pages to make them 12x12. So far, I have not learned anything new. But I really like Cathy's style and enjoy using her templates.

I didn't feel like eating dinner so decided to go quick and easy. Two cheese sticks and two peaches. The peaches are so good.

Sunday

Wonky hair.

POTD prompt was semi-circle.

I have managed to stay under my calories this week. Almost 2000 under. I do not know if I have lost any weight because I need new batteries for the scale.

I just heard the song sung by Andy's former music teacher Mr. Medlock. Andy played piano on the track. Mr. Medlock said Andy had talent and potential. Unfortunately, Mr. Medlock left the school and no teacher had taken his place in helping Andy improve his skills. I need to find a music teacher for Andy. I think he would enjoy it.

Gas. $80 to fill the tank.

Been listening to the iPod more. I have a smart playlist called rate me! In it are songs I have listened to a lot but have not rated. The playlist only culls 100 songs at a time. Today seems be the Ps. Loved listening to Peter Gabriel. Then it moved on to Phil Collins. I heard a song I don't remember called Wear My Hat from his album Dance Into The Light. The song sounds like he was trying to imitate Paul Simon. The album must be one that Gail had purchased. I had lost interest in Collins after his third album. I did not purchase any albums after ...But Seriously.

Gail liked rock and heavy metal mixed with pop. He loved AC/DC but also Phil Collins and Elton John. I do not like AC/DC but I do like the older Elton John and Phil Collins. Gail liked the newer stuff. And Gail liked to listen to music loud. Very loud. To the point where the windows were rattling.

Gathered Ryan's immunization records. I wonder if he still is willing to get his shots tomorrow? I used to keep good records.

Finished purging February 2009. There wasn't much to purge. I think I already organized the month or maybe I didn't take many photos.

March 2009 POTD.

I packed a box to ship to Bonnie. The box fills up quicker than the items disappear. I have so much stuff to get rid of!

I thought I was done with the laundry. I just had to fold Andy's shorts. However, I found a basket from Ryan waiting to be washed. He goes through a lot more clothes.

I worked on a layout for Design Your Life. This was a three parter. The colors were to be analogous and the subject was to be alike and different. And there was a sketch to follow. The subject was easy enough. My boys can be different as cats and dogs. In fact, I often compare them to cats and dogs. Ryan is like a cat in that he typically is content to be alone. Except when he wants attention, you had better provide it. Andy is like a dog in that he is so happy to see you and please you. And hates to be scolded.

I did not like Cathy's color suggestion and planned on using my own. The analogous works because Andy likes yellow and Ryan likes green and they are next to each other. Scrapbook & Cards Today posted a Colour Suite challenge and I though it would work. I played with the colors for quite a while. Something is off but I had had enough so I stopped and posted the layout. I then made a card using the sketch and colors. I like the card better.

Card of the day.

I was feeling a bit guilty not giving the keyboard with the computer. But Andy has a history of dead keyboards. And tonight, he keyboard with do little else but the number 3. I am glad I saved the extra keyboard.

Saturday

POTD prompt was digging. Again, the execution did not meet the idea. I only have so many Lego pieces.

I went to the Fresh Market at Wiregrass. It is run by the same people who run the Tampa Downtown Market on Fridays. Fresh Market is every first and third Saturdays. I saw many of the same booths. I got some peaches and Roma tomatoes from my favorite produce place. I got some corn and melon. I picked up a small bag of kettle corn. Lots of good smells, good food. It was only 10 am so too early for lunch. I saw the bread guy but managed not to buy anything. I saw the crawfish pie booth. Unfortunately, they were at the wrong end and I didn't want to carry a frozen pie. I got some preserves for my dad. I got some fall honey for me. I saw the egg lady. She is there only on the third Saturday. She has organic, real free range eggs for $3.75 dozen. Dad had just bought another dozen so I will have to wait to get some eggs. Hers did look good. I took my camera and took a few dozen shots.

February 2009 POTD

Dad went to church and I put together the Lego Marina. Then it was time to fix dinner. I boiled the corn, cut up a melon. I had salad first then cut the corn in the same bowl. When I stood up, I realized I was full. Very full. The melon was really good.

Friday.

POTD. Doyle gave me some confidence so I decided to start posting my better Lego photos at 500px.com. They do OK.

I went to lunch with Doyle and Norm. I am so glad Norm decided to come. He is such a good guy. We ate at Five Guys and ate the fries. I was so full from lunch that I wasn't even hungry for dinner but I did have a smoothie.

I went to Target because I needed claritin. Then I found more stuff to buy. Don't I always? I got a book for Andy and some journals for Bonnie. I have to find something for her birthday.

Worked on January 2009 and now that month is done. I was better at key wording and sorting photos that month. I culled the POTD for February 2009 but did not have time to start a layout. I can do that tomorrow.

Card of the day.

Thursday.

POTD. Prompt was framed. Not quite was I had envisioned but still a good scene.

Andy & I went to CFA for lunch. I talked Doyle. Man! We can talk a lot and not get anything done. We did finally decide on Five Guys for lunch tomorrow.

Came home then went out again to get my hair cut. I stopped at Starbucks. They were out of carrot cake. I had to get red velvet whoopie pies. I usually take a treat to Dana.

Came home and made a layout for January 2009 POTD.

Listened to Stacy Julian and her Finding Photo Freedom videos.

Wednesday

Wednesday Adventure Club off to a bad start. Ryan wanted to walk around the park. I said OK. I stopped to take Andy's picture and Ryan kept going. I looked for him, yelled for him. Which got Andy upset. I finally saw Ryan on the other side of the park. I yelled run. He walked. Grr. I yelled run and he still walked. He got here and I yelled and took his iPod away. Andy wascrying. Grr! He doesn't mind me. I hate not being listened to.

We went into the museum. I said if we got separated, to me at the front doors at 11:30. Then I set the alarms on the boys' iPods. Right away Ryan was giving me attitude. They were out of maps but they had them on the wall. I told Ryan to photograph them. He said no cameras were allowed. We went to go upstairs and the boys went for the stairs but I wanted the elevator. I asked what floor and they kept going. I had to remind Ryan that he was not listening. He came back and told me the third floor.

The elevator stopped at the second and there was Ryan. We called Andy, who was hanging back, and we went back in the elevator. We went up to the third floor and the doors opened. A man got on the elevator and I went to go out. Then I noticed that this was not part of the public space. It contains the offices and area for parties. The elevator only opened because the man called it.

We went back down to the second floor and started to explore. Ryan really likes Water's Journey. The clouds are a climbing area suspended from the ceiling. There are platforms, or clouds, to climb on. The area is caged so no falling. But the whole thing sways a bit which makes Andy nervous. I get vertigo just trying to photograph Ryan climbing.

We went downstairs to play in the Kid's Port. Andy was still glum. He said he needed a nap when he got home.

Back upstairs to play. Ryan likes the Art Smart pinboard and the Super Market. I made each boy stand against the wall in the hospital to see how tall they are. They looked liked suspects.

Soon, Ryan was done so we went through the gift shop quickly and then back to the car. We had lunch and came home.

The drive did Andy good and he was no longer sad when we got home. He said Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz cheered him up and he could play. Ryan asked why Andy took so longer to feel better. Andy is more empathetic than Ryan.

POTD. Prompt was close up.

I finished purging 2008 photos.

Card of the day.

Tuesday.

Break is half over!

POTD. Prompt was more than 6. I put together a new kit with 9 boxes of Lego.

I finished up purging November 2011. I started collecting POTD for December. I missed a whole week of posting because I was getting ready for family to visit. I managed to find photos that I had taken for those days. I began the layout and realized we had to get ready for the movie. I got all the photos placed on the first page before I had to quit and fix lunch.

Andy & I went to see Cars 2. I cannot believe how expensive movie tickets are. It is much cheaper waiting for the DVD. For the two of us it was $15.50. Thankfully we don't get snacks.

The movie was more enjoyable than I expected. I am not sure little kids would get all the references to James Bond. Finn McMissile can do anything. Andy got bored about half way through. He wanted to move higher up which we did. Then he wanted to listen to his iPod. Ironically he chose to watch Curious George which is the first movie I took the boys to. We left about 2/3 in.

I wanted to stay past the credits but Andy was ready to leave so we did. We stopped at McDonalds for fries.

December 2008 POTD. Now that the POTD layouts for 2008 are done, I am wondering if I should have a photo book made or start another alba just for POTD. It would be cheaper to do the album.

Card of the Day.

Purged more photos. Realized I have not done anything with the photos when my family came to town. There are some funny shots between Nancy and John.

I am hungry. I fixed myself a smoothie. By avoiding sugar, my cravings are down and I have calories left over.
