Did you know that the first chocolate chip cookie was actually a mistake? Mrs Wakefield, owner of The Toll House restaurant, wanted to make chocolate cookies. She had no cocoa so she thought chocolate broken into bits might do the same job. It didn't do what she expected but something much better. I'm not sure there is much better than homemade chocolate chip cookies.
