[public art] solar rotary
/
The boys and I went to USF last week looking for art. We only found 3 before the rain hit and here is the first one, Solar Rotary by Nancy Holt. It is tucked away with the trees and you can't really see much on the approach. The black bars blend in with the shadows of the trees. I was disappointed with my shots as the black almost disappeared.
1/4000 @ f 2.8 ~ ISO 400 ~ 14 mm
So I walked around trying to find a better angle. I heard the plane and rushed to get it in the circle. Again disappointed with the outcome. In order to see it is a plane and not dust on the sensor, you have to zoom in too much and you lose the shape of the sculpture.
1/2500 @ f 2.8 ~ -.7 EV ~ ISO 100 ~ 14 mm
It is an interesting piece and you can read more about it in the St. Pete Times.
